Illegal alien gets 10 years for kidnapping, impregnating 12-year-old
SALINAS, Calif. (AP) An illegal alien has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for kidnapping and impregnating his Salinas landlord's 12-year-old daughter.
Monterey County prosecutors say 25-year-old Juan Ramirez Flores had rented a room in the family home for three years and had pursued a romantic relationship with the girl, including the use of pornography to entice her into sex.
Flores took the girl to Mexico last September and the child, pregnant with Flores' child, was located two months later by her family. It wasn't known if she's still pregnant.
He was eventually captured by the Border Patrol while trying to enter the U.S. illegally.
Flores was convicted of lewd acts on a child, inflicting great bodily injury and kidnapping.
